At the first opportunity for Pat to get money out of his bank, he attempted to use several ATMs in Ao Nang. Three of them kept his card and he had to get people inside the banks to retrieve it for him. His bank in New Zealand did not allow him to make withdrawals in Thailand. He wasn't able to get money from his bank during the whole trip and found this quite frustrating.
